El Salvador Surf Trip

El Salvador is a surfer’s paradise located on the Pacific Coast of Central America that has more than 10 world class right-hand point breaks. Travelers will stay at Club Sunzal, located directly on the beach in front of two of the best surf breaks in El Salvador:

El Sunzal-  a very long right point break of 300 yards. It’s waves have a fast take off with perfect carving walls and some barrels. It’s perfect for all surfers.

La Bocana-  a left and right (primarily left) breaking rivermouth. It’s a powerful beach break great for advanced surfers. The lineup will be spotted with awesome and friendly locals, but surfers will have to battle heavy waves and strange currents. This is a break best surfed in the afternoon.

The El Salvador surf trip is open to surfers age 16 and older.

Equipment:

Price does not include surfboard rentals from the hotel. If you wish to bring your own surfboard, a board fee will be charged by the airline. Spirit Air is currently charging $100 each way for up to two boards.

El Salvador Surf Accommodation:

    Club Sunzal is an oceanfront resort with a onsite restaurant, and a large swimming pool to enjoy after you surf. The club is on one of the finest oceanfront properties in El Salvador with 24/7 gated security, large bedrooms that sleep 4-5 guests, hot water showers, A/C, private bathrooms, and relaxing palapas, tables and hammocks along the seawall.

El Salvador has other activities our travelers can experience while not surfing. The following activities can be arranged for an additional cost. Please let us know if you want to schedule an activity when you make your reservation.  

• Canopy tour: The tree top canopy tour is a fun afternoon activity that doesn't take much time away from surfing. It is just a short distance away from La Libertad and takes about 1.5 hours.
• Motocross tour: Guillermo "Mason" has a great tour riding dirt bikes through the rugged mountains. Mason works with riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced/semi pro riders.  There's a trail for everyone.
• Horseback riding and mountain biking: On the weekends you might see people riding horses on the beach, but Juayua is great place to enjoy both horseback riding and mountain biking. Beautiful tours are available at Finca Portazuelo in Juyua, at nearly 5000 ft elevation, where some of the best coffee in the world is grown.
• Deep sea fishing: There are many guided fishing trips available for deep sea fishing. Organizing a boat will require a little planning ahead so please let us know if you want to include this into your surfing trip.
